PRP (Platelet-rich plasma)

Human blood is composed of red blood cells (93%), white blood cells (6%), and platelets and plasma (1%). Platelet rich plasma (or PRP), concentrates on separating that 1%, creating a concentrated serum of platelets. Platelets release growth factors that recruit reparative cells and, hence, revitalize and heal tissues. In other words, platelets are cells that help soft tissue to heal and grow new cells. For this reason, PRP injections have a long history of success in treating sports injuries, arthritis, tendinitis, and other painful conditions.
